‘Modern Warfare 2’ maps list — every map included in Season 3
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 continues what Infinity Ward started when it rebooted the franchise back in 2019. We’re now looking into Season 3, which features a suite of new maps (some returning, mind). There are many maps, some of which feature across multiple game modes, and some that are pulled straight from the larger Al Mazrah Warzone 2.0 map.
Now that players have settled into Modern Warfare 2, we’ve seen a lot more of what the game has to offer, and where it is headed. There are several maps included, ranging from large-scale ground war maps to tight 6v6 affairs. There’s Farm 18, which holds a shoot house at its centre, and Crown Raceway which offers up race cars as cover.
Here are all of the Modern Warfare 2 maps included in Season 3.

Note that all maps in Modern Warfare 2 fall into one of three categories: Al Mazrah, Las Almas and Rest of the World. The first category take place in sections of Al Mazrah, the main Warzone 2 map, these are often labelled as Battlemaps. Next is Las Almas, a major area of interest in the Modern Warfare 2 campaign. Finally, all other maps that take place outside of these areas.
Now, let’s take a look at some of the maps on offer:
Farm 18 Training Facility
Farm 18 is set in a hidden training facility, based inside an abandoned cement factory. It consists of a large ‘shoot house’ building in the middle, with overgrown, more open areas surrounding it.
Crown Raceway
Next up we have the Crown Raceway. This is based on a racetrack. It takes place in the buildings around the racetrack. Winding white corridors and plenty of race cars to hide behind. So far, this map seems to be best for Domination and Hardpoint modes.
Mercado Las Almas
Mercado Las Almas is included in the multiplayer mode of Modern Warfare 2 at launch. It focuses on tight 6v6 gameplay, with a central corridor that can be a great place for sniping. Indoor areas are small, and there are food carts and vans to mount your gun on.
Breenbergh Hotel
Breenbergh Hotel is another 6v6 map in Modern Warfare 2. It’s a mostly indoor area, with walkways that offer high vantage points. The corridors are tight, but give way to large lobby areas.
Now onto the Battlemaps, of which some will take place on sections of the Warzone 2 map, Al Mazrah. These host large-scale 32v32 battles.
Sarrif Bay
Sarrif Bay has winding staircases and tiered buildings, allowing for sniping and aerial killstreaks to be deployed. AI combatants can be found dropping in via helicopter. Kill them to earn points.
Dome
Then we have Dome, which is also not exactly a new map. Dome has featured in previous Call of Duty games, and this version is from Modern Warfare 3. It’s been tweaked somewhat, and was introduced as part of Season 2.
Ashika Island
Finally, there’s Ashika Island. This is Warzone 2.0′s new Resurgence Mode map, but will also feature in DMZ. It’s a smaller map than Al Mazrah, with very different terrain and structure.
New Season 3 maps
There are five new maps that have been added into Modern Warfare 2 as part of Season 3. Three are core multiplayer maps, two are Battle Maps.
- Pelayo’s Lighthouse (Core)
- Black Gold (Core)
- Sattiq Cave Complex (Battle Map)
- Rohan Oil (Battle Map)
- Alboran Hatchery (Core, in-season)
That’s all the maps included in Modern Warfare 2 in Season 3. For more on the shooter, head over to our Modern Warfare 2 best weapons guide. You’ll find info on the guns that you should absolutely be using.
Elsewhere in gaming, according to former Nintendo Of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé, Nintendo was working on a cross-platform controller, designed for people with access needs.
