K-pop singer Sunmi has released a music video for her latest single, ‘Balloon in Love’.

The music video for ‘Balloon in Love’, which was filmed in Croatia, chronicles a seemingly perfect relationship that slowly falls apart, as much as Sunmi tries to hold on.  “Out of breath, looking at you / Makes my heart balloon / Someone says It’s gonna blow up one day / No, right? No, right?” she sings on the opening verse of the sentimental mid-tempo pop-rock song.

‘Balloon in Love’ marks Sunmi’s first new music release in eight months, following her October 2023 digital single ‘Stranger’. Prior to that, she had dropped the single ‘Heart Burn’, which was named one of NME’s 25 Best K-pop Songs for 2022.

Before signing with Abyss Company in 2017, Sunmi was signed to JYP Entertainment as a soloist, and a member of girl group Wonder Girls prior. Over her solo career, the singer has released several hits, including ‘Gashina’, ‘Noir’ and ‘You Can’t Sit With Us’.

In other K-pop news, an Asian version of the Grammy Awards will reported by held in Korea. According to a new report by local media, Recording Academy President Panos Panay and CEO Harvey Mason Jr recently visited Korea to discuss the matter with local labels and industry insiders.

DPR IanDPR Cream and DPR Artic – members of the label Dream Perfect Regime – have announced their upcoming 2024 ‘The Dream Reborn’ world tour, featuring concerts in Asia, the US, Europe and more.
