T-ARA tease reunion ahead of 15th anniversary in July
Members of K-pop girl group T-ARA have been teasing a possible reunion ahead of the group’s 15th debut anniversary in July.
T-ARA member Jiyeon first posted two pictures as a post on her personal Instagram yesterday (May 19), which features several photobooth pictures of the four existing T-ARA members together alongside another picture of name tags for all four members.
The post is cryptically captioned with a heart emoji, with members Hyomin and Qri commenting: “Suddenly? See you later!” and “It’s getting crazy!”
Hyomin later took to her Instagram Stories on the same day to post a cropped picture of a document titled “T-ARA 15th Anniversary Project” with no other details. So far, no official announcement has been made by any of the members. The group are set to celebrate their anniversary on July 29.
T-ARA first debuted in 2009 as a six-piece and would later go on a prolonged hiatus following the depatures of Boram and Soyeon, as well as the expiration of their contracts with MBK Entertainment, both in 2017.
The remaining four members of T-ARA – Qri, Jiyeon, Hyomin and Eunjung – would reunite in 2021 and release the mini-album ‘Re: T-ARA’, headlined by title track ‘Tiki Taka’, in celebration of the their 12th anniversary.
In a three-star review of the album, NME’s Rhian Daly wrote said that the record “might not sparkle as boldly and brightly as some of their best work, but it doesn’t tarnish their legacy by any means”.
