Liam Gallagher on whether or not he’ll perform ‘Definitely Maybe’ in order on upcoming anniversary tour
Liam Gallagher has revealed more details on how he’ll approach the setlist for his upcoming ‘Definitely Maybe’ tour.
The former Oasis frontman is due to play the Britpop band’s 1994 debut album in full across the UK and Ireland next month to mark its 30th anniversary. He’ll perform four gigs at both The O2 in London and the new Co-Op Live arena in Manchester as part of the run.
Gallagher is also scheduled to showcase the record in its entirety when he headlines Reading & Leeds 2024 in August.
Yesterday (May 22), a fan asked Gallagher if he would be “following the original order of the tracks” featured on ‘Definitely Maybe’ at the dates, “or will it be mixed up?”
In response, LG wrote: “Mixed up.” He added that he “can’t be singing ‘Live Forever’ [four] songs into the set.”

The aforementioned single is actually third on the LP’s tracklist, which begins with ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Star’ – a past opener at Gallagher’s solo concerts. Other songs on the album include ‘Shakermaker’, ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ and ‘Slide Away’.
When pressed on whether he’d be airing any of his solo material on the tour, Gallagher said: “Not a drop”. He also named ‘I Will Believe’ – the B-side to Oasis’ debut single ‘Supersonic’ – as the track he’s most excited to perform live.
Earlier today (May 23), the singer was asked how many songs would feature on the special ‘Definitely Maybe’ setlist. “I’m gonna start with 20,” he replied, “and if my voice holds out up [or] what ever the hipsters call it these days I’ll up it to 30 then 40 then 50 I’ll show them.”
When the fan expressed concern for Gallagher’s voice, he responded: “I’ll bang out 15 in [a] boisterous manner then Drew [McConnell, bassist] will have to go to powder his nose it’s in his contract so I’m told then back on for the last 5 biggies”.
He added: “There’s your 20 songs can’t do any fairer than that Rkid.” You can see that exchange and more below.

Gallagher previously teased that he’d be playing some “naughty” B-sides from the ‘Definitely Maybe’ era on the 30th anniversary tour – including the Noel Gallagher-sung ‘Half The World Away’.
Elsewhere, LG ruled out airing any of his solo music and said he was “gonna go for it visually” onstage.
He claimed last October that Noel had been asked to participate in his ‘Definitely Maybe’ shows, but he “refused”.
In other news, Oasis have announced a 30th anniversary reissue of their classic debut album, featuring previously unheard recordings and outtakes. A teaser for the collection led to speculation about a potential reunion earlier this week.
During an interview with NME in April, Gallagher said an Oasis return was “not happening” around the ‘Definitely Maybe’ anniversary. He was asked if fans could expect a comeback to mark the three-decade milestone of ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory’ in 2025.
“I don’t know – I don’t think that’s happening either,” he responded. ‘It’s not happening at this moment in time.”
Meanwhile, Oasis recently shared an early live recording of ‘Supersonic’ to celebrate the single’s 30th anniversary.
