Heart cancel European tour for Ann Wilson to undergo “time-sensitive” medical procedure

American rock icons Heart have announced the cancellation of their European tour – find out more below.

Last night (May 29), the band took to social media to announced the cancellation of their upcoming European tour, which was meant to take place between June and July. Per their post, the band confirmed that singer Ann Wilson due to “undergo a time-sensitive but routine medical procedure”, forcing the band to axe all planned European shows. They were due to be supported by Squeeze for the UK leg of their tour.

The band also noted that Wilson’s recovery period is estimated to last a minimum of six weeks, and that refunds will be issued at ticket holders’ point of purchase.

In a separate post, Ann Wilson remarked that she’s “okay” and asked her fans not to worry. She added: “I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. It’s certainly an inconvenience for me.”

Heart recently wrapped up their first leg of their North American tour with Cheap Trick in late April and May. They will seemingly resume their North American tour in late July, which will run through late September.

Tickets to their US shows are now on sale.

In April, the band teamed up with Jimmy Fallon to perform the ’80s hit ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ to mark April 8th’s solar eclipse. Most of North America and Mexico witnessed the spectacle for the first time since 2017. A total solar eclipse occurs when the moon lines up perfectly between the Earth and the sun, blocking out the sunlight. North America won’t see the celestial event again for 21 years.
