Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion and GloRilla Dropping New ‘Wanna Be’ Remix
They told you it was coming and now it’s almost here. Just days after Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B and GloRilla teamed up on stage during Meg’s Madison Square Garden Hot Girl Summer show in New York last week, Cardi revealed that a remix of “Wanna Be” will drop on Friday (May 31).
Unlike the original that dropped in April with Glo and Meg, however, this revamp will feature all three women. “AHHH… Wanna Be Remix out Friday!!,” Cardi tweeted on Wednesday (May 29) along with the artwork from the single, which features cartoon images of all three women chilling in front of a chain-link fence.
Cardi was the surprise guest at Meg’s MSG show, joining the headliner for a run through their NSFW collabs, “WAP” and “Bongos,” with Cardi also dropping her verse on Glo’s “Tomorrow 2” and before Glo and Mega performed “Wanna Be” as Cardi twerked along.
According to NME, Glo then let the cat about of the bag when she told the crowd, “We got a muthaf–kin’ announcement. I’m a need y’all to stay tuned.” Megan then urged GloRilla to cough it up, so she asked the audience, “Y’all wanna hear ‘Wanna Be’ with muthaf–kin’ Cardi B?”
Meg then made it crystal clear. “‘Wanna Be’ the muthaf–kin’ remix about to drop, ya’ll. Be Ready.”
The original version of “Wanna Be” was featured on GloRilla’s second mixtape, Ehhthang Ehhthang, which dropped in April. The 12-track follow-up to Glo’s Anyways, Life’s Great EP — which launched the breakthrough hits “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” and “Tomorrow 2” — featured the burner “Yeah Glo!” as well as the Moneybagg Yo collab “All Dere.”
