Guns N Roses’ Duff McKagan announces solo US tour, shares new concert video
Duff McKagan has announced a solo US tour that will commence towards the end of 2024, ahead of his fall tour in the UK and Europe.
The Guns N’ Roses bassist shared the news on social media yesterday (May 31) with a video statement, where he also announced the release of his concert video Tenderness: Live From Los Angeles on YouTube. See tour dates and watch the film below.
The film was captured in 2019 while McKagan was on tour with his live band – which includes country star Shooter Jennings – at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre. McKagan was in support of his second solo album ‘Tenderness’, released the same year.
On this forthcoming 2024 tour, which supports his 2023 effort ‘Lighthouse’, McKagan will return to the same Los Angeles venue on November 13.
Tenderness: Live From Los Angeles will also be issued on vinyl and CD on June 28, with pre-orders live on his official merch store.
The tour dates for Duff McKagan’s 2024 US tour are:
NOVEMBER
4 – Boston, Massacussetts – The Paradise Rock Club
6 – New York, New York – Le Poisson Rouge
8 – Chicago, Illinois – Outset
10 – Denver, Colorado – The Bluebird
13 – Los Angeles, California – El Rey Theatre
18 – Portland, Oregon – Aladdin Theater
20 – Seattle, Washington – The Showbox
Pre-sale tickets go live via Ticketmaster on Tuesday (June 4) with the code “CHORD”. General tickets go on sale on Friday (June 7).
Prior to this US tour, McKagan will embark on a tour in UK and Europe, which will begin on September 30 at the Dublin Academy in Ireland.
‘Lighthouse’, which is his third album following 1993’s ‘Believe In Me’ and 2019’s ‘Tenderness’, featured guest appearances by Iggy Pop, Alice In Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell, and longtime Guns N’ Roses bandmate Slash, among others.
In March, McKagan shared how Iggy Pop helped him through a “bad mushroom trip” when he was a teenager. “I went to an Iggy show way too high on mushrooms, thinking I was going to have to go to the hospital, freaking out,” he said on a podcast.
“I just watched Iggy the whole, just tripping way too much on psychedelics. But he brought me down. And I was already a big Iggy fan, but then I was like, he means more to me. He’s a waypoint for me in my life.”
