STAYC wreak havoc in playful ‘Cheeky Icy Thang’ music video
K-pop girl group STAYC have released a music video for their new single ‘Cheeky Icy Thang’, from their first studio album ‘Metamorphic’.

In the new visual for ‘Cheeky Icy Thang’, STAYC have their heads in the clouds as they make their way through a movie set, wreaking havoc along the way. As they take to the streets, the remain lost in their own reflections, causing problems for themselves and the pedestrians thy encounter.
“I’m cool as ice / On the rocks, whiskey, ring a ring ding dong / Sunglasses, blocking out the piercing gazes for me / Cheeky Icy Thang, Cheeky Icy Thang / Cheeky Icy Thang, Cheeky, Cheeky Icy Thang,” they sing on the chorus.
‘Cheeky Icy Thang’ is the lead single of STAYC’s first studio album ‘Metamorphic’, which they released at the same time. The new record contains a total of 14 tracks, including the girl group’s first unit and solo tracks.
‘Metamorphic’ comes about three-and-a-half years after the girl group made their debut in November 2020 with the single album ‘Star to a Young Culture’. Their last release as the August 2023 mini-album ‘Teenfresh’, led by the single ‘Bubble’.
Back in March, STAYC released a remake of TWICE’s 2019 hit single ‘Fancy’ for Spotify Singles. In an interview with NME, the group shared: “We loved [‘Fancy’] while we were practising to become what we are today so it really is a special song to us.”
STAYC also previously covered Spice Girls’ hit debut single ‘Wannabe’ live during the London stop of their ‘Teenfresh’ world tour in November 2023.
