Selena Gomez, Steve Martin & Martin Short Say ‘Only Murders’ Season 4 ‘Notches It Up Again’

Only Murders in the Building is returning for its highly anticipated season 4 on August 27, and stars Selena Gomez, Martin Short and Steve Martin sat down with Good Morning America on Tuesday (June 4) to discuss while fans can expect.

While he didn’t share much about the mystery, Short revealed, “Season three was so strong, and so was season one and two. I think season four notches it up again.”

Gomez added of her co-stars, “I get to learn from really brilliant people every day.”

The singer and actress also received a nine-minute standing ovation after winning best actress at Cannes Film Festival earlier this year for her work in Emilia Perez. “It was pretty surreal considering none of the cast or myself had seen the film before. Then when it happened, I was in shock,” she recalled.

Martin then chimed in to joke, “Marty and I have never had a standing ovation but we’ve been booed for 4:30 each.”

In the upcoming season, Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez) find themselves dealing with the aftermath of the shocking events surrounding Charles’ stunt double and friend Sazz Pataki at the end of season three. “Questioning whether Sazz or Charles was the intended victim, our trio’s investigation leads them all the way to Los Angeles where a Hollywood studio is readying a film about the Only Murders podcast,” the description of season four reads. “As our amateur sleuths race back to New York, they embark on an even more epic journey — traversing their building’s courtyard to delve into the twisted lives of the Arconia’s West Tower residents.

Before the premiere date, you can catch up on all three seasons of Only Murders in the Building on Hulu. Hulu starts at $7.99 per month, or $79.99 per year for the ad-supported plan, while you can go without ads for $17.99 per month.
