Lady Gaga has shut down pregnancy rumours using a Taylor Swift lyric and encouraged fans to vote.

The rumours began circulating thanks to photos of the popstar at her sister’s wedding on Saturday, where fans believed Gaga looked pregnant.

Now, Gaga has taken to TikTok to deny the rumours, telling her fans in her latest video: “Not pregnant–just down bad cryin at the gym.” The lyric is in reference to Taylor Swift’s song ‘Down Bad’, taken off her most recent album ‘The Tortured Poets Department‘.

Gaga also took the time to encourage her fans to vote, writing: “Register to vote at www.headcount.org.”

Gaga recently teased what her new music will sound like, saying it will explore the “art of intensity” and is “nothing like anything I’ve ever made before”.

Speaking to Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans during a Q&A, Gaga said she has been working in the studio “every single day” recently, and hinted that the material will mark a departure from the work that fans are familiar with.

“I have written so many songs, I’ve been producing so many songs, and it’s nothing like anything that I’ve ever made before,” she said. “I love to break genre and I love to explore music. There’s something really beautiful and knowing that you will be loved no matter what you do.”

She also recently shared the trailer for her Gaga Chromatica Ball concert film. The film was directed and produced by Gaga herself.

She wrote on Instagram: “Revisiting the tour leaves me speechless the way we had each other—you all showed up for music and art in a big way, and with a level of excitement and freedom that I will never forget. Stadium after stadium. Sold out crowds. The deafening singalongs.”

“Chromatica was colorful revenge. The chaos of it all became pure energy and life. With a texture best experienced live.”

The last time Gaga released music as a solo musician was with 2020’s ‘Chromatica‘, which NME praised in a four-star review: “Gaga has fully embraced creating a pure pop album. The record is littered with catchy choruses and glossy production – but it goes deeper than that.”
