Gene Gallagher’s Villanelle announce debut UK headline tour after opening for Liam at ‘Definitely Maybe’ anniversary shows
Gene Gallagher’s band Villanelle have announced their debut UK headline tour. Find all the details below.
The group will hit the road this winter after supporting Gene’s dad Liam on his current run of arena shows, which are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ ‘Definitely Maybe’.
Villanelle are due to kick off their first UK tour in Glasgow on November 19. Further dates are scheduled for Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol and Nottingham throughout the month.
The final gig will take place at Oslo in Hackney, London on November 28.
Tickets for the tour go on general sale at 9am BST this Friday (June 21) – you’ll be able to buy yours here. See the announcement post and the full itinerary below.
Villanelle’s 2024 UK headline dates are:
NOVEMBER

22 – Night & Day Café, Manchester
23 – The Key Club, Leeds

Gene formed the band earlier this year with Ben Taylor (guitar), Jack Schiavo (bass) and Andrew Richmond (drums). Villanelle are yet to share any recorded music, but a press release promises that news will arrive “soon”.
Liam Gallagher announced the group as one of his support acts on his 2024 tour in March. The singer later shared footage of Villanelle performing live after denying claims of nepotism.
Previously, Gene launched a three-piece band called Grimmo. Liam once described his music as “in your face, Arctic Monkeys-style”, compared to his brother Lennon (Automotion) – whose material is more “spaced out, like early Verve, pretty chilled”.
The current ‘Definitely Maybe’ tour has seen Liam dedicate ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ to Dave Grohl, perform the Noel-sung ‘Half The World Away’ (which he dedicated to his estranged brother and former bandmate) and air a rendition of Noel‘s Oasis-era ‘Lock All The Doors’ demo.
More recently, LG debuted the ‘rap’ from the Sawmills demo of Oasis‘ ‘Columbia’ in Manchester. The previously unheard version of the song was released last week.
You can see the full list of Liam’s upcoming arena dates below, and find any remaining tickets here.
