Taylor Swift fans are camping outside Wembley Stadium despite warning
Taylor Swift fans have begun camping outside Wembley Stadium, despite a warning from the venue’s organisers.
The ‘Midnights’ singer is set to hit Wembley Stadium tonight (June 21) as part of her extensive run of ‘Eras Tour’ dates. It’ll be the first of her three shows at the site, with the remaining two taking place over the weekend.
Now, it has been reported that eager fans have already begun camping outside the stadium in a bid to get as close to the stage as possible when doors open. However, this comes as staff at the venue have warned against fans showing up ahead of time.
Initially, Wembley Stadium issued a warning that Swifties couldn’t camp outside the arena as the final preparations were made for the singer’s first London show. “Overnight camping is not allowed. We want everyone coming to the show to turn up in Style,” they announced earlier this week (via MyLondon).
“Wembley Stadium is situated in a residential area. We kindly ask that only those with tickets or those visiting our merchandise megastore turn up to the stadium to avoid disruption to the local residents and businesses,” it added. “To support with the safe entry and exit of everyone within the stadium, no one is allowed to stand outside any entrance or on the Olympic Steps at the front of the stadium. Non-ticket holders will be moved on.”
They also shared a list of strictly prohibited items, including prams, umbrellas, bags over A4-size, aerosols and more. That said, fans have ignored the restrictions and begun camping outside regardless.

Images shared online show them sleeping in tents and huddling together in blankets as they waited overnight for the huge tour to kick off in the capital.
Unsurprisingly, the actions have led to some frustration from other fans who did follow the advice from the venue and are also eager to make it to the front. “As much as I admire the dedication of camping to see Taylor… can we please go back to when we’d all show up a few hours before the show? I’d rather not risk my health just to get a good view,” one user wrote on X.
Another added: This camping at Wembley is insane. We were front left standing in Cardiff. Got there at 11:30am and got second row at the back of the diamond. There is no need to put yourself at risk when you can get the same view as someone who got there 8 hours after you.”

living by wembley is great most times but this taylor swift shit has turned living here into a walking nightmare no access to our bins because a merch store has been thrown up, people screaming and singing at all times of night, people camping and leaving rubbish

Following these three shows over the weekend, Swift will be heading back to London in August for a further five shows.
Earlier this month, NME gave Swift’s first Edinburgh show of the tour a glowing five-star review, writing: “Despite being an arena show, in a huge, cavernous venue, Swift and her fans have managed to cultivate a community. Strangers swap friendship bracelets, laugh and cry together, and embrace the tour’s in-jokes and lore (for example shouting “one, two, three, let’s go bitch” during ‘Delicate’).
“It’s the power of Swift, an artist who’s inspired not only the renaming of a Scottish Loch, but also countless fans to come out and embrace being a part of the Eras family. With The Eras Tour, then, Swift’s managed to craft a marvel of a show that comes with a beating heart.”
Since then, she has debuted her songs ‘The Bolter’ and ‘Crazier’ in Edinburgh, along with premiering her mashup of ‘This Is What You Came For’ and ‘Gold Rush’ at her show in Liverpool.
The pop star also confirmed in Liverpool at her 100th show that the ‘Eras’ tour would officially end in December, saying: “This has definitely been the most exhausting, all-encompassing but most joyful, most rewarding, most wonderful thing that has ever wondered in my life, this tour.
