KARA’s Seungyeon remembers late bandmate Goo Hara: “We couldn’t have been happier”
KARA member Seungyeon recently opened up about her late bandmate Goo Hara in a new interview.
KARA’s Seungyeon recently made an appearance on the SBS TV series Unanswered Questions, where she recalled her time with late bandmate Goo Hara, who passed away in 2019.
During the episode, the singer watched a clip of KARA’s 2013 Tokyo Dome concert, which had made them the first K-pop girl group to perform at the iconic venue. “It was such an exciting day. Definitely one of the top three most important moments in our life,” Han recalled per SBS Star.
“At first, we were worried that we wouldn’t sell many tickets,” Seungyeon admitted. “But the tickets sold out immediately as soon as sales began. We couldn’t have been happier.”
The singer then recalled a time where she and Hara were “so stressed” that they took a spontaneous trip to the beach. “We played arcade games, bought a bunch of fireworks, and set them off. We also played a baseball game and had a meal together,” she said. “I enjoyed that day so much that I wish I could have a day like that with her again.”
After a decade of success as a KARA member and soloist, Goo was found dead in her home at age 28 in November 2019. Last month, it was revealed in a BBC documentary that Goo had provided crucial information to journalists investigating the 2019 Burning Sun entertainment scandal.
The new information has led to renewed interest in a theft that occurred two months after Goo’s death, where a man was caught stealing a safe from her home on a security camera. The culprit, who remains at large, and his motives for stealing the safe were the focal points the Unanswered Questions episode.
