Glastonbury 2024: Confidence Man pull massive crowd for Other Stage performance
Confidence Man played an early afternoon set on The Other Stage today (June 28), pulling in one of the biggest crowds of the weekend so far.
The Australian band were fourth on stage, following performances from Annie Mac, Headie One and The Snuts. Bombay Bicycle Club will play next, alongside sets from Anne-Marie, D-Block Europe and Other Stage headliners IDLES.
After opening with DJ Seinfield collaboration ‘Now U Do’, the dance-pop sensations played a selection of material from their 2018 debut ‘Confident Music for Confident People’ and 2022 follow-up ‘Tilt’. They also previewed new single ‘I Can’t Lose You’ from their forthcoming LP ‘3AM (LA LA LA)’, which is set for release on October 18.
There were costume changes, perfectly in-sync dance moves, and the crowd cheered every time vocalist Sugar Bones flipped his bandmate Janet Planet up in the air. Instrumentalists and producers Clarence McGuffie and Reggie Goodchild wore their signature black veils; at one point, the camera panned to three fans on the barrier wearing the same.
Though they didn’t say anything to the audience, Bones and Planet delivered relentlessly upbeat choreography throughout each track. Alluding to the rumours about the pair’s relationship, there was a flag in the audience that read: “Siblings or dating?”
During the set, fans were quick to take to social media to share their love of the set. “Wow, exactly what you want on Friday afternoon at Glastonbury. Energy galore, enjoying themselves, and helping the crowd do the same. And I’m only watching on TV,” one wrote on X/Twitter.
Another agreed, adding: “Someone better tell the Eavises that Confidence Man are now in charge.” Find more fan responses below.

Confidence Man. An absolutely brilliant Pop Group. I don’t have anything particularly profound to say, but sometimes Facts are important. pic.twitter.com/sPUdBX2UGb

Confidence Man return to Glastonbury following their appearance on The Park stage in 2022. In a four-star review of the set, NME said: “No-one else could grasp this opportunity quite like Janet and Sugar. Every single second of every single song is stuffed with ridiculous moves… For new fans and old, this was an immense treat.”
Speaking exclusively to NME earlier this month, Janet Planet and Sugar Bones described how the pathway to ‘3AM (LA LA LA)’ presented itself clearly. “It just made sense to hone in on these ’90s rave sounds and put pop vocals over the top, which isn’t really something that’s happened in the past, I guess,” said Planet.
“We had this great system going where we’d have a big party night, just the three of us in the studio”, he explained, referring to veiled member and producer Reggie Goodchild. “We’d get wasted, stay up late for 12 hours straight and just jam – throw everything at the wall”.
