Ozzy Osbourne apologises to Britney Spears after comments about her dancing
Ozzy Osbourne and his family have “apologised” to Britney Spears after having recently made disparaging comments about her dancing in videos – see what Ozzy had to say below.
Earlier this month, the legendary metal musician and his family spoke about Spears during an episode of their podcast. During the show, Ozzy Osbourne said: “I’m fed up of seeing poor old Britney Spears [dancing] on YouTube every fuckin’ day. It’s sad, very, very sad.”
The metal icon’s wife and manager Sharon Osbourne then added: “Poor little thing,” before Jack Osbourne then said: “Very sad indeed.”
This prompted Britney Spears to fire back at the former Black Sabbath frontman and his family in a now-deleted Instagram tirade. “I’m gonna … tell the Osbourne family who is the most boring family known to mankind to kindly fuck off!” she wrote.
Now, during the latest episode of their podcast, the Osbournes have issued an apology to Spears, which he also posted on Instagram. On the latest episode, Kelly Osbourne kicks off the topic, asking if they could apologise to Spears for their comments.
Ozzy remarked “Oh yeah! Britney, I really owe you an apology,” before adding, “I’m so sorry for making that comment. However, it would be better if you didn’t do the same fuckin’ dance every day. Change a few movements!”
Kelly then chimed in, attempting to correct her father’s course:: “I’m just gonna say, ‘Britney, never stop dancing. I love your dancing. It makes you happy. And I’m so sorry if any of us offended you.’”
Ozzy added, “I love Britney Spears, but it’s the same dance every day,” prompting his daughter to refer to an infamous Instagram clip in which Britney danced with knives in her hands: “No, sometimes she has knives.”
Ozzy Osbourne wrapped up the topic on a serious note, saying: “I really do apologise. I love you and I think you’re beautiful.”
The Osbournes’ apologies come after Spears walked back criticism against Halsey’s new video for ‘Lucky’, which interpolates Spears’ 2000 single of the same name – with the latter’s blessing.
Spears wrote she was “very upset” by the video, which references past outfits Spears has worn but portrays Halsey’s health struggles. Halsey revealed she had been diagnosed with Lupus and T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder in June this year.
“I feel harassed, violated, and bullied,” Spears wrote in a now-deleted post. She also threatened legal action against Halsey and called her “downright cruel”. However, Spears later walked back her statement on X/Twitter, with her writing: “Fake news !!! That was not me on my phone !!! I love Halsey and that’s why I deleted it !!!”
