Watch The Hives strut through the streets of south London in new ‘Rigor Mortis Radio’ video
The Hives have dropped a stylish new music video for their single ‘Rigor Mortis Radio’ – check it out below.
Announced today (August 19), the new music video comes for the single that originally arrived on the band’s album ‘The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons’ which marked their first new music after an 11-year hiatus.
Now, the song comes alongside a Filip Nilsson-directed visual accompaniment, which sees the band like never before. In the video, Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist and co. are seen swaggering around the streets of South London, breaking out a synchronised dance and kitted out in their matching signature suits.
“You’ve never seen me look so good before/ The silver lining and this golden glow/ This shine, all mine/ Looking like I’m fresh off an assembly line,” the frontman sings in the opening verse, before the song erupts into the chorus. “I was a star baby, ever since the dawn of man/ I got some help for you, let’s call it a master plan/ Well my advice? You roll the dice/ Then roll away with me ’cause you’re cold as ice.”

The new music video comes following the band wrapping up a whole list of summer tour dates, acting as support for the Foo Fighters as they embarked on their North American tour.
Before that, they also kicked off their UK and Ireland tour in March, and spoke to NME about their latest LP. During the interview, Almqvist calling Arctic Monkeys “the only good really popular band.”
“We toured with them in South America about 10 years ago and had a great time, so I’m really happy they wanted us back,” he said. “It’s a really great tour to be on; it’s really fun. I think Arctic Monkeys are fucking amazing. They’re the only good really popular band – and that’s not easy to do.”
Upon its release, ‘The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons’ received four stars from NME, with a review that read: “The Hives zapped straight back into the only mode they know: pure pandemonium. It’s about time new generations received this healthy dose of old school Hives, packed with the same intensity, goofiness – and of course, the matching black and white suits.”
Up next, the band are set to play the largest headline arena concert of their career, with a slot lined up for Mexico City’s 20,000 cap Palacio De Los Deporte on October 8.
As well as that, they also have a string of tour dates planned for the remainder of the month and across into September – with shows scheduled for North and South America. Visit here for last-minute tickets.
