Best ‘Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6’ weapons and guns
Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 has a solid selection of weapons that can be used with great loadouts and class setups. But, even in these early days of the game, a few weapons have become standout picks as the best Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 weapons while others are completely overpowered.
In this guide, we will cover the main standouts right now, with some weapons for close-range playstyles and others for snipers. However, the game is SMG dominant due to the fast pace of the gameplay, so do expect a few SMGs in here compared to other weapons. This guide is based off of 50 hours with the multiplayer.
Best Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 weapons
The best weapons and guns in the Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 are:
- 1. PP-919 – best SMG
- 2. KSV – best high damage SMG
- 3. AMES 85 – best assault rifle
- 4. XM4 – best all-around assault rifle
- 5. GPR 91 – best accurate assault rifle
- 6. Jackal PDW – best mobility SMG
- 7. SVD – best sniper rifle
- 8. Marine SP – best shotgun
- 9. AEK-973 – best marksman rifle
- 10. GPMG-7 – best LMG
1. PP-919
The PP-919 is the best gun in the game right now, closely matched with the KSV in our second spot. The gun has 60 bullets in a mag by default, which allows you to go on high killstreaks. Add onto that its relatively high fire rate, good handling and damage potential and you have a smooth, clean SMG that reminds us of the previous appearances this gun has had in the series – like Modern Warfare 3 (2011).
You will have to accomodate for some of its downsides but they can easily be overcome with a few attachments. Don’t overlook this excellent SMG.
2. KSV
An overlooked SMG compared to the PP-919 and the Jackal PDW is the KSV. This gun has one of the highest damage outputs of any SMG. The right attachments and an optic can help reduce the recoil, making this weapon a menace if used correctly. It isn’t getting the spotlight it deserves right now but it is undoubtedly one of the best options for players.
We have been able to pull off some ridiculously high killstreaks with it and dropped 50+ kills in a game, especially on the smaller maps like Babylon, Subsonic, and Skyline.
3. AMES 85
The next weapon on this list is the AMES 85. This is the best assault rifle in the game and also one of the most accurate (although not the most). While it doesn’t have the power of the AK-47, it has an incredible set of stats that allow you to stay on target thanks to minimal recoil, sway, and decent overall damage range.
Attachments can make this weapon even more reliable, reducing its damage falloff and giving you a bit of mobility. Our Black Ops 6 AMES 85 loadout has everything you need.
4. XM4
Next up is another assault rifle: the XM4. This is the first weapon you have access to, and it is the jack-of-all-trades AR in this game. There is nothing particularly bad about it and it has a solid set of stats that mean it can be used at any range with the right attachments. It won’t excel at one thing like the AMES 85 does, but you can still rack up impressive kill streaks with it.
For a great class setup to compliment the weapon, be sure to read through our Black Ops 6 XM4 loadout guide.
5. GPR 91
An overlooked weapon in the game right now is the GPR 91. While it doesn’t have the best mobility, the GPR 91 with the right attachments is an absolute laserbeam, capable of hitting enemies across the map if you are accurate. Few other assault rifles can do this and that is why it gets a spot on this list.
You will want to put a scope on it, as the iron sights are terrible. But, boost your range, recoil control, and bullet velocity with the Gunfighter Wildcard and you will be pulling off some high killstreaks with it.
6. Jackal PDW
The Jackal PDW is by far the most consistent SMG in Black Ops 6 right now and the most mobile. In the beta this weapon dominated, but other SMGs have taken its place due to their high fire rate, good stability, and damage. It is being run by most pros and content creators for a reason because it is so strong and consistent in matches.
The added mobility and the damage potential makes it a great choice for any run-and-gun build making use of omnimovement. For a great set-up for the gun, check out our Black Ops 6 Jackal PDW loadout guide.
7. SVD
For those snipers out there, the SVD is the stronger choice in currently, as it takes a lot of levelling up for the rest of the snipers to become effective. It is capable of landing a one-hit kill on the upper body, shoulders, and head, allowing you to rack up back-to-back kills effortlessly. Skilled snipers are already earning incredible Plays of the Game with the SVD.
Add some solid attachments on to it and it can be customised for stakeout sniping from one spot or run-and-gun playstyles. It really is that flexible, and with some practice and the right loadout, you can destroy teams in Hardpoint and Domination where there are objectives to focus your attention on. You can find a great build in our SVD loadout guide.
8. Marine SP
For those who want a shotgun build, then the Marine SP can be exceptionally strong. However, it is somewhat inconsistent. But when you are able to land your shots on target, remain at close range as much as possible within buildings, and stay off the radar, it is incredibly powerful, capable of landing one hit kills back-to-back on entire teams.
It is the better shotgun in the game currently and it can be a force to be reckoned with in the right hands.
9. AEK-973
The AEK-973 has overtaken the other Marksman Rifles as the top choice right now. Granted, it has just been nerfed in Season 1, but its ability to one-tap people in the right circumstances still makes it a force to be reckoned with. Despite the nerf, it is still incredibly powerful, with little recoil, good accuracy, and fantastic range.
10. GPMG-7
The GPMG-7 and LMGs in general are in a weird spot in Black Ops 6. The game’s pace doesn’t fit them at all and most struggle to keep up with the nimbler weapons. But if there was one that stands out, it is the GPMG-7 with the highest magazine capacity attachments. Players have been clipping videos of them spraying this weapon for 30-40 seconds and mowing down unsuspecting people with it. It’s not too functional, but its the LMG to use if you are persistent.
