This new ‘Elden Ring’ update will make the final boss easier
Elden Ring is an incredibly difficult game, but FromSoftware’s most recent patch has made it signifiantly easier in a number of ways and has also nerfed the final boss of the SHadow of the Erdtree DLC.
The final boss of the DLC, Promised Consort Radahn, was giving players a lot of trouble when the expansion first launched. It took streamer Kai Cenat dozens of hours to beat him, and then an overall player buff was developed to help people best the foe. Now, the boss has been specifically targeted by nerfs.
His attack pattern is different when the battle starts, the damage and range of some of his attacks are now reduced, some of his attacks are more noticably telegraphed, and some of them have been adjusted to make them slower or take longer to get going.
As well as the nerfs to the final boss, there are also a host of PvP and PvE changes. Many weapons and skills now do less damage to other players during PvP, meaning some of the most powerful builds may no longer be as meta as they once were. Backhand Blades, dual-wielded Spears, and the Pata now also all do less damage in PvP.
There are some buffs, too, that should help during adventures in The Lands Between and The Land of Shadown. The first uncharged heavy attack of many weapons has been sped up, meaning combat will be quicker and users will get interrupted by enemies less often.
Many spells have also had their attacks buffed, be it through increased damage or range. There are also a host of minor bug fixes that should ensure eveything is working as intended. If you want to see a full breakdown of all the changes, you can read Bandai Namco’s official patch notes.
In other news, there are lots of games that will be getting PS5 pro upgrades when the console hits shelves on November 7.
