Lee Hi celebrates birthday with release of new song, ‘One Thing’
South Korean singer Lee Hi has released a brand-new single titled ‘One Thing’ in celebration of her 27th birthday.
Lee Hi released the video for ‘One Thing’ exclusively on YouTube today (September 23), which featured the caption “Happy birthday to me” in the video’s description. The clip features shots of Lee Hi at an arcade and outdoors as she performs the laidback R&B track.
“I don’t want to lose this, now capture this moment / Come on just talk to me / Don’t be afraid of it, the recent bad memories / I wanna heal your soul,” she croons on the chorus. ‘One Thing’ marks her second new release of the year, after the ballad ‘My Beloved’ in early January.
‘Only Thing’ also marks Lee Hi’s first-ever music since she signed with duover, a new label founded by fellow former AOMG artists Gray, Code Kunst and Woo Won-jae. The addition of Lee Hi to duover’s growing roster was announced earlier today through the company’s Instagram page.
“We are excited to work with Lee Hi and plan to support her in fully showcasing her artistic abilities,” duover wrote in a statement to local press, as translated by Soompi. “We are pleased to share her song and a video, which she participated in producing, filming and editing, as a gift for her fans who have waited a long time.”
In other news, IU recently debuted a new song titled ‘Bye Summer’ at her recent Seoul encore concerts on September 21 and 22. However, the singer told fans that she has no intention of releasing it officially, saying the song was “made just for the encore concert”.
