Pinocchio-inspired soulslike ‘Lies Of P’ confirms vinyl soundtrack release

The soundtrack to Pinocchio-inspired soulslike Lies Of P is getting a vinyl release to celebrate the game’s first anniversary.

Originally released in 2023, Lies Of P sees players take on the role of a puppet created by Geppetto “who’s caught in a web of lies with unimaginable monsters and untrustworthy figures”.

“In our soulslike, you must adapt yourself and your weapons to face untold horrors, untangle the unfathomable secrets of the city’s elites and choose whether to confront predicaments with the truth or weave lies to overcome them on the journey to find yourself,” explained developers when the game was first released.

To celebrate the one-year anniversary of the game, developers Neowiz has partnered with iam8bit to create two vinyl offerings. The first is a three-LP boxset that contains the entire Lies Of P soundtrack in “all its epic, moody and masterful glory” while a limited-edition 7” record features ‘Feel’, a track that offers players a brief pause within the game when they play the song using Lies Of P’s phonograph.

Both records feature “dreamlike, illusively surreal album art” from Dan Zollinger and are available to pre-order now via IAm8Bit. It comes as Neowiz has also shared details of an anniversary merch collection featuring t-shirts, hoodies and a baseball cap, which is available to purchase here.

Last week, Jiwon Choi, director of Lies Of P, took to social media to commemorate the anniversary. “It’s hard to believe that a year has passed since we first invited you to Krat,” he wrote. “My goal, which is to create an enjoyable game, has never wavered. For the DLC of Lies Of P and the sequel, we aim to do better on what we did well and improve in areas we have room to grow. It might sound simple but I find sticking to the basics is anything but easy.”

“It’s funny how time seems to crawl when I’m waiting for anticipated games as a gamer, but it flies so fast when I am working on one,” he added.

The expansion for Lies Of P is due to release before the end of 2024, while a release date for the sequel has yet to be confirmed.
