Will there be a ‘Nobody Wants This’ season two?
The romantic comedy series Nobody Wants This has landed on Netflix, but can fans of the show expect a second season? Read on for all the info.
The 10-episode series has been created by Erin Foster and stars Kristen Bell (The Good Place, Veronica Mars), Adam Brody (Shazam!, The O.C.) and Timothy Simons (Veep).
Based loosely on Foster’s real-life experiences, Bell’s Joanne is an outspoken, agnostic podcaster who embarks on a relationship with Brody’s unconventional Jewish rabbi Noah Roklov. All ten episodes are available to stream now.
The show has been well-received by critics, sitting on a 95% score on reviews aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.
Will there be a Nobody Wants This season two?
The 10-episode first run of Nobody Wants This leaves viewers on a huge moment of tension and expectation as Noah and Joanne kiss and resolve to give their relationship a real go and ignore the outside noise that has been holding them back, despite the fact that Joanne expresses caution about converting to Judaism.
Netflix has yet to give any confirmation either way about whether the show has been recommissioned for a second season, and with the episodes only having been released in recent days, it may well be several weeks before the news arrives.
With the show being an original screenplay from Foster, there would seem to be no logistical limitations to the show continuing further should all creative parties decide they would like to.
Given that Foster has already stated that the show’s plotlines are loosely based on her own life experiences, and given that the relationship depicted is an approximation of her current marriage, it can be assumed that she will not struggle for further inspiration for where to take the Joanne and Noah characters should Netflix decide that they also want to see more.
