Hans Zimmer’s new theme for ‘Dragon Age: The Veilguard’ is out
Legendary composer Hans Zimmer has shared his new theme for Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
The game is due out later this year and will see players “unite the Veilguard and defy the gods in an immersive single-player RPG where you become the leader others believe in.”
It’s epic stuff, and the soundtrack is due to follow suit, with Hans Zimmer and frequent collaborator Lorne Balfe composing the entire thing. The full thing will be available to stream November 1, but Zimmer has already shared the game’s main theme, which you can check out below.
Zimmer is known for scoring blockbusters like The Lion King, Dune, Gladiator and The Dark Knight but has also worked on a number of video games, including FIFA 19, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Arena Of Valor and Crysis 2.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard, formally known as Dreadwolf, is the long-awaited follow-up to 2014’s Dragon Age: Inquisition and is due for release October 31 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC,
“We wanted to give you the choice to really express yourself, and do that in a world full of adventure and danger,” said creative director John Epler, confirming the release date. “So whether you’re a Warrior, Rogue or a Mage, we can’t wait for you to gear up, gather your party, and set out for another thrilling adventure through Thedas this Halloween.”
Last month, Zimmer announced details of a 2025 UK arena tour. ‘The Next Level’ will feature “a completely new show featuring groundbreaking electronic soundscapes and a spectacular light production,” with Zimmer wanting to “surprise my fans and take them into a sound world like they’ve never experienced before.”
The tour will kick off November 2025, and visit Leeds, Glasgow, Dublin, London, and Manchester. Ticket details are available here.
In other news Ken Kutaragi, known as “The Father Of The PlayStation”, has claimed that everyone at Sony thought the original PlayStation would be a massive flop.
