Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 has announced details of a contest where one fan can win £100K to help them buy a house.

Over the next few weeks, influencers Angry Ginge, Ash Holme and Danny Aarons will compete in a series of challenges inspired by Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6, with fans needing to back their favourite to stand a chance of winning £100,000 to go towards buying a property.

“Our three agents will need to tap into their rogue instincts, pushing their limits in extraordinary ways to secure the £100,000 cash prize for one lucky fan to put towards their very own Safehouse,” explains the contest page. To enter, entrants will need to confirm who they’re backing here and explain why they should win the prize draw.

The Safehouse Challenge, named after Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6’s central base of operations, will be presented by Roman Kemp, with each head-to-head contest shared across Call Of Duty’s social media pages from October 10. “These challenges will unfold in a meticulously recreated Safehouse, reminiscent of the iconic setting from the game,” said a press release, with all of them “themed around lies and deception”. The finale will then take place October 24, with the winner announced November 1.

“This year Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is taking gamers back to the ‘90s, a time that we all look back on fondly thanks to the incredible music, wild fashion, and ‘Cool Britannia’ vibes,” said Kemp. “However, the ‘90s was also a time of political upheaval and deception, so to secure the prize for one of their fans our rogue agents will need to embody the ‘90s and the Black Ops spirit to secure the bag.”

“The 100K prize includes contributions to legal fees, buying new furniture, removals, and all the latest gaming gear to fit out the most important room in the house – the gaming room,” said Activision Blizzard, with entries closing October 21.

The land registry reports that a standard house cost just £57,959 in 1991 while 46 per cent of 18–24-year-olds currently believe they’ll never be able to afford their own home, according to AllBrick’s Generation Stuck 2023 research initiative. “The £100,000 prize is more than just a sum of money; it’s a lifeline, offering a substantial hand toward their own ‘Safehouse’,” continued Activision Blizzard.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to launch October 25 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. It’ll also be a Day One release for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.

In other news, a fan-led remake of Fallout 2 is in the works, with Project Arroyo set to turn the 2D classic into a 3D, open-world experience.
