Bodega share new single ‘Myrtle Parade’ and announce October UK tour
BODEGA have released their new single ‘Myrtle Parade’ and announced a deluxe edition of their latest album, ‘Our Brand Could Be Yr Life’.
The band first announced the record in January and shared its title track ‘Tarkovski’. Their third studio LP, it was released in April.
Now, they have shared details of a digital deluxe edition of the album, titled ‘Brand On The Run’, which will be released on November 1 via Chrysalis Records. It will contain seven additional tracks, including the Madchester-influenced ‘Myrtle Parade’.
Watch the video for that song, directed by the band themselves, below:
The band’s Ben Hozie has said: “‘Myrtle Parade’ was a song I originally wrote for an earlier version of ‘Endless Scroll’ but it was far too sunny and breezy to fit with the minimalism of that album. It’s a song set in a smoky DIY warehouse venue (Brookyln’s defunct and much missed Aviv) about feeling out of place and going through the motions at a show where the atmosphere is cramped and the social anxiety is high. The verse lyrics feature impressionistic snippets of overheard conversation at the venue where I imagined gossip about Myrtle, a fictional scenester emblematic of the BK rock world I associate with the Myrtle Wyckoff and Myrtle Broadway subway stops.”
‘Our Brand Could Be Yr Life’ was a complete remake of Hozie and bandmate Nikki Belfiglio’s previous band Bodega Bay’s sole album, a 33-track self-released record from 2015.
The band will also play a UK tour in October, playing the following dates:

15 – Nottingham, Rescue Rooms
16 – Leeds, Brudenell Social Club

BODEGA’s previous release was 2022’s ‘Broken Equipment’. In a four-star review of the LP, NME said: “It’s a striking and welcome way to end the album, and for a band with complex philosophies and critical theories to burn, BODEGA’s most vital moments come when they lower their guard down and just let it all out.”
