‘Shaun Of The Dead’ star Nick Frost has made a new horror-comedy about a holiday-gone-wrong

Get Away, a new comedy horror from Shaun Of The Dead star Nick Frost, will be released in the UK next year.

Frost writes, produces and stars in the upcoming film, which will be launched on Sky Cinema on January 10, 2025.

The movie follows a family’s holiday to a getaway on a Swedish island, but the trip takes an unexpected turn when they discover their destination is inhabited by a serial killer.

“Looking forward to spending a vacation on the small Swedish island of Svälta, the Smith family is unsettled by the unfriendly mainlanders who advise them to avoid the island at all costs, especially during the Karantan festival,” reads a plot description. “But the four-member family is in deep need of some time away and stubbornly decides to take the ferry anyway.”

Frost stars alongside Aisling Bea (This Way Up), Sebastian Croft (Heartstopper) and newcomer Maisie Ayres (Criminal Record).

“The chance to bring the film to Sky and to be part of their originals team feels a little too good to be true,” said Frost in a statement (via The Hollywood Reporter). “It feels like the perfect place to snuggle up and watch a huge ball of comedy horror. Dig in!”

“Get Away is the first film that Nick has both written and starred in, and his passion for the project has infused every element — making it something really special,” said Julia Stuart, director of original film at Sky.

“The film has all the hallmarks fans enjoy about Nick’s dark comedy horrors — laugh-out-loud fun, twisted surprises and outrageous gore — along with a stellar, best-of-British ensemble cast. We know our audiences are going to love taking a trip on this killer family holiday together.”

In the US, Get Away will be released in select cinemas on December 6, followed by its debut on AMC Networks’ horror streamer Shudder in 2025.

Speaking to NME back in June, fellow Shaun Of The Dead star Simon Pegg and director Edgar Wright shared their thoughts on “sequelising” the hit zombie comedy, as well as discussing the next film they’ll be working together.
