Kieran Culkin still hasn’t seen the ‘Succession’ finale
Succession star Kieran Culkin has revealed that he still hasn’t seen the hit show’s final episode.
Culkin – who stars in the series as Roman Roy – won a Golden Globe and an Emmy award earlier this year for his performance in season four of the acclaimed HBO black comedy drama.
However, despite his star-making performance over the course of its four seasons, Culkin has revealed that he still hasn’t seen the show’s tense finale.
Speaking to Stephen Colbert on The Late Show, he opened up about not watching the last episode: “I was in Poland shooting this movie when the last three episodes were airing, and I couldn’t log into my Max account. So my wife actually went on Instagram and said hey, if there’s anyone who can give your sign-in so Kieran can watch the last couple episodes? And people did! Everyone just gave over their email and password and stuff.
“I was able to watch the eighth and ninth episode, but then before the last one I had to move to a different hotel that didn’t have a smart TV, so I just couldn’t watch it then.”
He added that he “then went home, did a vacation, blah blah blah. You know when it’s like a couple months old? I kinda missed the moment. Does that not make sense? Maybe it doesn’t make sense.”
Since then, Culkin and his wife have planned to rewatch the entire show from the beginning but haven’t actually begun to do so yet.
In recent Succession-related news, co-star Jeremy Strong revealed last month that working on the series had “fucked me up” and that despite missing the show, he wouldn’t want to return to the show if ever the chance arises.
“That show was an incalculable gift. The material a banquet. So I miss that. But Kendall’s struggle was difficult to carry for seven years. And there’s just so much more I want to do,” he said. “It’s not something I have any wish to do any longer. I’m aware it is one of the main chapters of my life, but I don’t miss it.”
