‘Attack On Titan’ film to include new post-credits scene
The upcoming Attack On Titan film is set to include a new post-credits scene.
The film, entitled Attack On Titan The Movie: The Last Attack, is due for release in Japan this week and will comprise of the anime show’s final two chapters.
Speaking in a new clip, voice actor Yuki Kaji has promised a post-credits scene, while also teasing a few details of what fans can expect.
“A new post-credits scene has been added…the three of us [myself and the voice actors for Armin and Mikasa] were able to record it,” Kaji said (via CBR).
“I can’t say anything about it yet, but I can’t believe it’s finally become an anime…I’m going to scream with all my might. The atmosphere of the scene was unique to Attack On Titan.”
Attack On Titan is set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity has taken to a fortified city to escape the giant Titans, and is based on the manga by Hajime Isayama.
The show’s fourth and final season concluded last year, with Isayama opening up at the time about the series’ bleak ending.
“I guess there could have been an ending where it was a happy ending and the war ended and everything was fine and dandy,” he told The New York Times. “I guess that could have been possible. At the same time, the end of fighting and the end of contention itself kind of seems hokey.
“It kind of seems like it’s not even believable. It’s just not plausible in the world we’re living in right now. And so, sadly, I had to give up on that kind of happy ending.”
In a four-star review of the final chapters, NME said: “In the end, Attack On Titan remains a cynical, unsparing and gruesome cautionary tale about humanity’s worst impulses. But as long as there are Armins out there, we can always hope to do better.”
