Young Thug has made his first post-trial appearance in an Instagram video with T.I.

The rapper recently accepted a blind guilty plea deal and was released from prison last Friday (November 1) after enduring the longest criminal trial in Georgia. He was sentenced with time served – for the two and a half years he had already spent in prison – along with 15 years of probation.

The 33-year-old (real name Jeffery Lamar Williams), was originally arrested in May 2022 on gang-related charges, and was later charged with seven additional felonies.

Now, in his first appearance post-trial, Young Thug has been spotted in the Instagram video of fellow Atlantan T.I., who he previously teamed up with on songs like 2014’s ‘About The Money’.

“The Kings have Reconvened”, T.I. declared on the caption, adding: “Guess I’m officially outta retirement 🤷🏽‍♂️ For tonight 😂 #welcomehome”. Young Thug is all smiles in the clip, taken in what looks like as a studio – although no new music by the rapper has been confirmed yet.

Upon the news of his sentencing, Young Thug said in court: “I take full responsibility for my crimes, for my charges. To really everybody that has got something to do with this situation, I want to say sorry.”

He went on to describe himself as “a good guy with a good heart” who found himself “in a lot of stuff because I was just nice or cool.”

“And I understand that you can’t be that way when you reach a certain height because it could end bad… and it could fall on you.”

Young Thug has also been given 100 hours of community service, a ban on contact with gang members or former co-defendants and a prohibition from the metropolitan Atlanta area for the next 10 years except under special circumstances.

The rapper was originally arrested alongside fellow rapper Gunna, who are both involved with the musical collective YSL (Young Stoner Life). However, prosecutors accused YSL of being “a criminal street gang”.

Both men denied their charges, with Young Thug having his bail denied three times.

The trial experienced serious delays, including Young Thug’s lawyer being arrested mid-trail for alleged contempt of court in June – which prompted the removal of the judge over misconduct allegations a month later.
