Ice Cube is back. The Compton icon has announced plans for his first album since 2018’s Everythang’s Corrupt. Cube revealed on Monday (Nov. 11) that his Man Down LP is slated to hit streaming services later this month on Nov. 22.
“The album my fans have been waiting on,” Cube captioned his social media post regarding his 11th album. “MAN DOWN drops on 11/22, pre-save the album now.”
The N.W.A alum unveiled the cover art featuring a Black teen walking down the street surrounded by workers and other members of society face down and passed out.
Fans were hyped to hear that Cube was delivering another album before the year’s out. “Ohh some pissed off Cube and we loving it,” one person wrote. Another chimed in: “Woahhhh let’s get it Cube much love and respect!”
Per Apple Music, Man Down boasts 19 tracks in total and includes features from Snoop Dogg, Too Short, E-40, Xzibit, B-Real, Busta Rhymes, Kurupt, October London and more. Previously released singles like “It’s My Ego” and “Ego Maniacs” are also on the project.
“Being in the game for almost 40 years, I’ve seen waves come and go,” Cube told Bootleg Kev on Monday. “Around the Laugh Now, Cry Later record, right before that record I was like, ‘When I pick up an Anita Baker record, I want it to sound like Anita Baker.'”
The Lench Mob frontman continued: “I felt like Ice Cube fans are the same way. When they pick it up, they want it to be authentic, quintessential Ice Cube. That’s what I’ve been worrying about delivering… That’s what I been focused on — doing records that are totally me.”
