Fans react to Charli XCX’s Adele impersonation on ‘SNL’: “She killed this”
Charli XCX performed and hosted Saturday Night Live and delivered an Adele impression fans are calling “so accurate”.
Having previously announced she would be tackling the double duty slot as performer and host, her stint on last night’s (November 16) show saw her perform ‘Brat‘ tracks ‘360’ and ‘Sympathy Is a Knife’, as well as appearing in various sketches.
In the Wicked Auditions skit, the ‘Apple’ singer appears in a wig and a black dress similar to those sported by Adele on her Las Vegas tour dates as someone says: “Okay, testing for Elphaba, Adele.”
XCX comes in and says: “Hello, can I take my shoes off?’ before joking: “Okay, wicked. Oh my God, I said the name of the bloody movie! Shut up, that’s fucking funny.”

Adele has joked about her “potty mouth” before, having warned fans about her language at her 2016 Glastonbury slot, in which she swore 33 times during her 90 minute set, coming to around one swear word every 2.7 minutes.
With clips of the impression now circulating social media, fans are praising XCX’s comedic timing . “Charli is such a great actress,” wrote one viewer. “THAT ADELE IMPRESSION WAS SPOT ON LOLLL,” wrote another, with more adding that “she killed this” and that it was “so accurate” right down to the laugh.
“You know Adele was cackling at this,” remarked one fan on TikTok.
The ‘Apple’ singer’s ‘SNL’ slot follows the release of her remix album ‘Brat And It’s Completely Different But Also Still Brat’. In a five-star review of the LP, NME shared that the album “is a home run for its creator, letting her finish the game on her own terms.
