What songs are in the ‘Wicked’ movie?
Wicked arrives in cinemas on Friday (November 22), but what songs are included in the film? Find the full list below.
The movie is the first of a two-part adaptation of the hit stage musical, and stars Ariana Grande as Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, two friends at Shiz University who are on the path to becoming the Wicked Witch of the West and the Good Witch of the North respectively.
Directed by Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians, In The Heights), the film also stars Jonathan Bailey, Michelle Yeoh, Peter Dinklage and Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard of Oz himself.
The film had its first European screening in London on Monday (November 18), with early reviews describing it as “the ultimate crowd-pleaser of 2024”.
In a four-star review of the film, Nick Levine wrote for NME: “By the end, you won’t quite be levitating off your seat but you’ll definitely be enchanted enough to stream the soundtrack on the way home. Funny, colourful and full of empathy for outsiders, this film really is the Shiz.”
Wicked is also part of the anticipated ‘Glicked’ phenomenon, with it and Gladiator 2 both filling cinemas at the same time in the coming weeks. With both films expected to bring in $80million opening weekends in the US, it is thought it could rival the runaway success of ‘Barbenheimer’ in the summer of 2023.
Wicked Part Two is slated for a cinema release on November 21, 2025.
