Destiny’s Child reunite as Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland support Michelle Williams on Broadway

Destiny’s Child reunited earlier this week at the opening night of Death Becomes Her on Broadway.

Michelle Williams is currently starring in the musical, an adaptation of Universal Pictures’ 1992 dark comedy film of the same name which starred Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, Bruce Willis and Isabella Rossellini.

The Broadway version runs at New York City’s Lunt-Fontanne Theatre and sees Williams take on the role of Viola Van Horn.

In celebration of the show’s opening night on Thursday (November 21), her former Destiny’s Child bandmates, Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland, showed up to support.

Beyoncé shared the moment on Instagram with a selection of photos and videos of the ‘Say My Name’ singers together backstage, alongside the ‘Cowboy Carter’ song ‘II Most Wanted’. Responding to the sentimental post, Williams commented: “I try not to cry too early in the day BUT……. My sisters 4ever!”

It’s not the first time the trio have reunited this year. In January they delivered an impromptu performance at Rowland’s husband – talent manager Tim Weatherspoon’s – 50th birthday. They sang a special rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ that, according to Page Six, guests called a “highlight” of the celebration.

Prior to that, they also joined forces during Beyoncé’s 2013 Super Bowl halftime performance. The following year, Knowles-Carter and Rowland featured on Williams’ most popular track, ‘Say Yes’, and performed at the 2015 Stellar Gospel Music Awards. And, in 2018, they shocked the world again by teaming up at Beyoncé’s historic “Beychella” Coachella headline show.

In other Beyoncé news, the singer will bring her latest album ‘Cowboy Carter’ to the NFL Christmas-day Halftime Show this December, as confirmed by Netflix earlier this month.

She will be performing midway through this year’s Christmas game between the Houston Texas and Baltimore Ravens on December 25, in an event that will be livestreamed on Netflix.
