Billy Joel and Rod Stewart Announce One-Night-Only Summer 2025 Yankee Stadium Gig

Billy Joel announced a one-off summer 2025 gig with fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Rod Stewart at New York’s Yankee Stadium. The one-night-only event will take place on July 18 at the iconic ballpark as part of the Piano Man’s ongoing string of stadium shows with A-list guests.

Earlier this week Joel posted a wrap-up video celebrating his epic 2024 year of shows with a variety of co-headliners, including Stewart, Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks and Sting, as well as special guests daughter Alexa Ray Joel, Jason Bonham, John Mayer and Trey Anastasio. The clip, cued to his melancholy 1976 track “New York State of Mind” flashed images of Joel on stage with those guests, as well as footage of stops in Japan and Canada and a nod to his historic 150th, and final, show in his Madison Square Garden residency.

It will be a busy year on the road for Joel, who is slated to kick things off on January 17 with a gig at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, FL, followed by a team-up with Sting at Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Stadium on Feb. 8 — the Police singer and solo star will also join Joel in Syracuse on April 11, Milwaukee on April 26, Charlotte on May 10 and Salt Lake City on May 23. Nicks will share the stage with him on March 29 at Ford Field in Detroit and the last scheduled date so far this year, an August 8 show at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. Stewart will also be on hand for a gig at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on July 5 in a prelude to the Yankee Stadium gig.
