Listen to Bring Me The Horizon’s rocked up cover of Oasis’ ‘Wonderwall’

Liam Gallagher and Oli Sykes

Bring Me The Horizon have shared a new cover of the classic Oasis track ‘Wonderwall’. Check it out below.

The cover of the Britpop classic song was shared today (January 29) for Spotify Singles, and sees the Sheffield band put their own distinctive stamp on the song – 30 years after its release.

In the new version, the stripped-back acoustic guitar in the original is substituted for a simple electric riff, while frontman Oli Sykes gradually builds momentum with his vocals. From there, just before the band hit the chorus, they launch into a classic BMTH-style eruption.

I don’t believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now,” Sykes belts in his signature style, amid the immense drums of Mat Nicholls.

As well as developing their own version of the legendary song by Liam Gallagher and co., Bring Me The Horizon have also paid tribute to the Manchester band by recreating the famous clip of all four Oasis members as seen in the ‘Wonderwall’ music video.

This includes the four of them sitting in a straight line while bassist Matt Kean, sat on the far lefthand side, reads a newspaper, Sykes looks directly at the camera, Nicholls holds a megaphone and guitarist Lee Malia looks off into the distance.

All profits will be donated to Teenage Cancer Trust. Check it out below and find out more about the charity here.

The cover marks the latest entry into the long-running Spotify Singles collection, with the band joining the likes of IDLES, Wet Leg and LCD Soundsystem in contributing a cover of their choice by one of their musical heroes.

Also for the collection, BMTH have shared a reimagined version of ‘YOUtopia’, which featured on their latest album ‘POST HUMAN: NeX GEn’.

In the new rendition – which they have called the EarthcOre Remix – the band hones in on a more ethereal, stripped-back version of the 2024 track. Throughout, they toy with different dynamics and layers, as well as take a step back from the epic, anthemic charm captured in the original.

The new releases from BMTH come as the metal pioneers have been confirmed to be headlining Reading & Leeds 2025, alongside Chappell Roan, Travis Scott, and Hozier. Visit here for tickets.

Although they have played at the twin-site festival countless times in the past, their only headline appearance to date was for their epic set back in 2022, when they shared top-billing with but played before fellow Sheffield band Arctic Monkeys.

Last year, the group spoke to NME about the huge positive response they received for ‘Nex Gen’ – which was named as one of NME‘s Best Albums Of 2024 – as well as the R&L slot and what the future holds.

“Now it feels a little more exciting and like there’s a little more pressure because there are no ifs-and-buts about it,” they said of the headline slot, comparing it to their 2022 appearance. “We’re the last band on that day and once again we’ve got something to prove.

“It’s also cool because the last time was where we revealed the show that we’ve been working with for this campaign run: the full ‘Nex Gen’ immersive experience,” he added. “We’re still running with that vibe, but it’s evolved so much. That evolution is going to reach its apex for Reading & Leeds. It will reach full-circle.”

Oli Sykes and co. are also up for another BRIT Award later this year, receiving a nomination in the Group Of The Year category. If they were to win, the victory would follow them taking home the trophy in the Best Alternative/Rock Act category in 2024.

As for Oasis, the band are set to play some huge shows across the UK and Ireland this summer as part of their long-awaited reunion tour. Following the local gigs, the band will head overseas for a number of international dates.
