The award-winning comedian, producer, actor and podcast host will be sharing a debut album called ‘I’m A TV’ next month, and is already gearing up to hit the road.
Set to arrive on February 27, the record marks a new chapter in their extensive career, and is set to see the singer-songwriter capture a signature blend of indie rock, alongside a sense of “wit, openness, and deeply personal storytelling.”
Martin has already shared two singles from the forthcoming album. The first is the hypnotic, stripped-back song ‘Good Dream’, while the second is the dreamy ‘Stowaway’, which sees the artist sing atop swirling, ethereal instrumentals.
“I’ve been writing songs since I was a teenager, with no intention of ever sharing them,” Martin said. “It took moving to L.A. a couple of years ago and really having some time to sit alone in a rented apartment to reconnect with that Toronto teen.
“I didn’t realise how badly I wanted to sit with an acoustic guitar by myself and get to say what I wanted to say without the pressure to find a punchline.” Visit here to pre-order and pre-save the record.
As for the tour dates, Martin will kick off a series of shows with an opening night at The Regent Theater in Los Angeles on February 26 – the day before the album arrives. This will be followed up with stops in Toronto and New York, before wrapping up with a show at the O2 Forum Kentish Town venue in London.
