Watch the gruesome teaser trailer for ‘Final Destination Bloodlines’
The first teaser trailer for Final Destination Bloodlines has been released – watch it in all its brutal glory below.
14 years after the beloved franchise’s last entry, Final Destination 5, the curtain has finally lifted on the long-gestating Final Destination Bloodlines. It will serve as the sixth entry in the series that will finally provide fans with some answers as it “takes audiences back to the very beginning of Death’s twisted sense of justice”.
In the teaser trailer – which you can watch below – we see a girl getting her tongue pierced before leaving a tattoo parlour. A tattoo artist struggles with the loss of his father and his hunted down by mysterious forces as he gives himself a tattoo honouring his late dad.
The trailer slowly builds up tension in its signature chilling, gory fashion but cuts off before we see the character’s undoubtedly brutal death.
The official synopsis for Final Destination Bloodlines reads: “Plagued by a violent recurring nightmare, college student Stefanie heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all.”
Late horror icon Tony Todd, who died last year at the age of 69, will return posthumously, marking his final-ever film role. Todd has in the past appeared in Final Destination, Final Destination 2 and Final Destination 5. For Bloodlines, he will once again be resuming his role as William Bludworth, a funeral home owner who has expert knowledge on the film’s incarnation of Death.
Besides Todd, Final Destination Bloodlines stars Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, Rya Kihlstedt and Brec Bassinger.
Final Destination Bloodlines is due for release in the UK on May 16, with a global release on May 14. It will also be screened in IMAX formats.
In a glowing five-star review of 2011’s Final Destination 5, which NME called “the best Final Destination film yet”, we wrote: “If you like watching blandly attractive people getting burned, maimed, twisted into anatomically unlikely heaps of quivering flesh, well, then you’re a horror fan, and there’s pretty much no way you won’t enjoy Final Destination 5. I give it five headsplats out of five.”
