Girl Tones share dreamy single ‘I Know You Know’ with hype from Cage The Elephant

Girl Tones have shared their dreamy new single ‘I Know You Know’, which features production from Cage The Elephant‘s Brad Shultz. Check it out below.

Released today (February 14), the track sees the sister duo depart from their usual high-octane brand of alternative rock for a more muted, delicate moment. It sees them deal with “a falling out with a self-proclaimed pathological liar,” as lead singer Kenzie explains.

Shultz’s contribution comes as the two bands head out on tour, with the shows kicking off yesterday (February 13) in Glasgow and running up until February 26, where they’ll wrap up with a gig in Paris. Find a full list of dates below and tickets for UK dates here and Europe dates here.

Girl Tones told NME “We are incredibly excited to be opening for Cage the Elephant on tour. It’s such an honour to play with them and explore the world at the same time too!”

“The single takes a bit of a detour, but should still feel in the same universe as the other singles. The eeriness of the lyrics along with the fuzzy guitar should guide you through the journey.”

Shultz added: “My first experience with Girl Tones was seeing them live and they’re one of those bands that you connect with instantly. It felt like I was watching a special band that are going to be doing this for a long time, and we bonded over a shared sense of making music for the love of music.

“They’re extremely determined, know exactly what they want, and have a vision of who they want to be,” he continued. “I’m happy to have them on tour opening for us in the UK.”

In other news, Shultz recently spoke to NME about Cage The Elephant being invited to support Oasis on the North American leg of their 2025 reunion tour. “I think I might have blacked out a little bit!” he said of his reaction upon receiving the news of joining the Gallaghers on the road.

“It’s an honour to support Oasis,” he said. “It’s a band that me and Matt [Shultz, vocalist and younger brother] grew up with. The first song that I ever learned on guitar was ‘Let It Be’ by The Beatles, and the second song was ‘Wonderwall’ by Oasis. Not too shabby with my first two songs!”

Shultz continued: “They’re a band that I’ve always respected for their songwriting sensibility, but also the rawness and realness of that band – I’ve always gravitated towards that. They make the type of records that you can put on front to back. There’s certain bands that just don’t miss, and they’re one of those bands.”
