Brand New to reunite for first live shows in eight years
Brand New have announced their return with details of their first string of live shows since 2017 – see the dates below.
The Long Island band have been largely inactive since frontman Jesse Lacey was accused of sexual misconduct involving a minor in 2017, with their UK tour at the time cancelled and their music removed from Spotify ‘Wrapped’ lists after two more women came forward with additional allegations.
They did play a secret and intimate reunion show in December last year in Nashville’s Eastside Bowl. The performance saw the band playing new songs, prompting speculation to grow that a full-blown reunion could be on the cards for 2025.
Now, the band have launched their own website, where fans can register to buy tickets for one of three shows they will be playing at the end of this month.

The first show will take place in The Bomb Factory in Dallas, Texas on March 26, followed two days later by the Megacorp Pavilion in Newport, Kentucky. The mini-run will then conclude in Nashville’s The Pinnacle on March 29. Presale for tickets starts at 12pm EST on Wednesday (March 5) and you can find yours here.

After the band appeared to go into hiatus after the allegations emerged, Lacey responded by offering an apology for “the actions of my past” which he said “have caused pain and harm to a number of people, and I want to say that I am absolutely sorry”.
He continued: “I do not stand in defense of myself nor do I forgive myself. I was selfish, narcissistic, and insensitive in my past, and there are a number of people who have had to shoulder the burden of my failures.”
“I apologise for the hurt I have caused, and hope to be able to take the correct actions to earn forgiveness and trust.”
Brand New formed in 2000 and established themselves as a leading emo band in their early years, before developing into a more complex and introspective alternative rock band.
Their fifth and most recent album was ‘Science Fiction’ in 2017, itself their first album in eight years. They had been hinting that it would be their final album around the time of its release, selling t-shirts bearing the dates “2000-2018” – although this was before the allegations against Lacey came to light.
