‘Monster Hunter Wilds’ fans are loving all the food porn

'Monster Hunter Wilds'

Monster Hunter Wilds fans can’t get enough of the game’s food porn with clips of delicious in-game meals going viral on social media.

Monster Hunter Wilds had an absolutely huge launch last week. With more than 1million gamers playing concurrently, it quickly became one of the most popular ever titles on Steam and Capcom has reported the long-awaited sequel to Monster Hunter: World has sold upwards of 8million copies in its first week.

One feature going down well with fans is the meal invitation events, which can be triggered after completing a quest or interacting with villagers. Having food cooked for you is handy because it offers longer-lasting, stat-boosting perks. As it stands, four different meal invitations are currently available.

Y’Sai (Kunafa, Windsong Village)
Maki (Azuz, the Everforge)
Tasheen (Sild, The Keepers’ Vigil)
The Allhearken (Suja, Peaks of Accord)

And footage of Wilds’ food porn has been shared across social media.

It’s had a real world impact as well, with one restaurant thanking Monster Hunter for boosting the popularity of its cheesy naan after a similar dish was featured in the game. The official PlayStation account has also shared the recipe from one of the in-game cooking events.

The food is such an important part of Monster Hunter Wilds that fixing a bug where occasionally a meal invitation won’t trigger is top of the patch notes for an imminent fix.

However some fans have been complaining Wilds is too easy compared to other Monster Hunter games. In a four-star reviewNME wrote: “Monster Hunter Wilds is still a worthy successor to World, focusing on the best aspects of the series such as the customisation and combat and refining them to create an unforgettable experience.”

In other news, the Russo brothers have said they’d “definitely be open” to working on an Avengers video game while directing Doomsday.
