BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend 2025: Biffy Clyro, Tom Grennan and more announced
BBC Radio 1 has announced the line-up for its 2025 edition for the first day of this year’s Big Weekend.
The annual festival is due to take place at Sefton Park in Liverpool from Friday May 23 to Sunday May 25. Tickets will be available from Thursday (March 13) from 5pm GMT here.
Earlier this year, a host of acts were announced across the weekend with Sam Fender, Blossoms, Lola Young, Wet Leg and BRITs Rising Star 2025 winner Myles Smith all previously confirmed.
Now, Tom Grennan has been announced as the Friday night headliner, while the likes of Biffy Clyro, Confidence Man, Barry Can’t Swim, Nia Archives, Katy B and The Wombats are also on the bill. You can view the full line-up for the first day below. The line-up for the BBC Introducing Stage has also been revealed with Crawlers among those performing.
Following the announcement, Grennan said on his social media: “From bbc introducing to headlining @BBCR1’s Big Weekend in Liverpool can’t wait see you there x.”
Further acts will be announced in the coming weeks.
BBC Radio 1 will broadcast live from the festival site across the weekend, with performances and tracks available live and on-demand via Radio 1’s iPlayer channel and BBC Sounds.
Liverpool’s Sefton Park previously hosted Blossoms’ historic COVID pilot show in 2021. Additionally, the city staged the Eurovision Song Contest in 2023.
Last year’s Big Weekend took place in Luton, with performances from the likes of Coldplay, Vampire Weekend and RAYE.
Meanwhile, Grennan recently announced details of his forthcoming new album ‘Everywhere I Went Led Me To Where I Don’t Want To Be’, which is set for release on on August 15 and can be pre-ordered/pre-saved here.
He has already shared the first taster from the record – ‘Shadowboxing’ – too.
In September he will hit the road for a UK and Ireland arena tour which includes a show at The O2 Arena in London on September 6 before wrapping up in Manchester on September 19.

Biffy Clyro meanwhile recently announced their return with two comeback dates at the Eden Sessions on July 9-10. Any remaining tickets can be purchased here.
They were also recently confirmed to appear at Glastonbury 2025 on Friday, June 27 alongside the likes of Alanis Morissette, Wet Leg and headliners The 1975.
