‘Grand Theft Auto 6’ fans think a new trailer is coming next month
Grand Theft Auto 6 fans believe a new trailer for the long-awaited game will be shared next month.
Grand Theft Auto 6 was officially announced at the end of 2023 with a brief trailer that was soundtracked by Tom Petty’s ‘Love Is A Long Road’. Developers Rockstar have reassured fans the game is still set to release at some point this year but since that first trailer, no new information about Grand Theft Auto 6 has been shared.
That hasn’t stopped fans from speculating about possible reveals. One theory suggested a new trailer would be released before Christmas, another rumour pointed to a January trailer drop. Now, GTA creators Grand Theft Auto 6 O’Clock have claimed the second trailer is coming in April.
A few weeks back, we talked about R*s predicted marketing timeline for GTA6, mapping against key media beats in the GTA5 and RDR2 campaigns.
TLDR: we're tipping late March / April for Trailer 2, and a 5-6 month campaign until launch

“We created a timeline that overlays the Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 marketing campaigns (with all of their key media beats), to see what that might mean for GTA 6,” they wrote in a newsletter. “Broadly, Rockstar’s last two big AAA games have run compressed five to six month campaigns in the lead up to launch.”
“Given that we’ve been told to expect a ‘Fall 2025’ release, then that places the start of the compressed campaign as late March / early April,” they continued, with information from a “credible insider” adding weight to the April trailer launch.
Some fans are taking the rumour with a pinch of salt though. “If you just say ‘two more weeks’ every two weeks, you will eventually be right,” wrote one fan. “Do it on April 1 Rockstar. You know it would be hilarious,” said another.
Strauss Zelnick, the boss of Grand Theft Auto 6’s publisher Take Two, recently told fans the game would be “worth waiting for” amid rumours of a delay. “Look, there’s always a risk of slippage and I think as soon as you say words like ‘absolutely’, you jinx things,” Zelnick added. “We feel really good about [a 2025 launch though].”
In other news, Pedro Pascal has warned fans that the second season of The Last Of Us is “fucking heartbreaking”.
