This summer will also see Idlewild take to the stage at Deer Shed Festival 2025 in North Yorkshire.

In 2022, Idlewild embarked on a UK and Ireland tour to mark the 20th anniversary of their third album ‘The Remote Part’.

The band’s ninth and most recent record, ‘Interview Music’, was released in 2019. In a four-star review of the LP, NME wrote: “Free from commercial constraints, Idlewild are reinvigorated.

“‘Interview Music’ is their best work in 17 years. They seem driven by the joy of making music great again. It won’t change the world, but record is a wonderful world all of their own.”

In the summer of 2023, Idlewild frontman Roddy Woomble spoke to NME about whether a new album could be on the horizon, while discussing ‘Instant Love’ – his solo single as Almost Nothing.

“I’m not saying other concerts are out of the question. The pandemic really derailed the band,” he explained at the time. “‘Interview Music’ came out in 2019, the record and tour were well-received, and we were all set to go into 2020 and make a record. That just didn’t happen because of the lockdowns, with everyone living in different places with different lives.”

Woomble continued: “Since then, we’ve got back together to play some rescheduled anniversary shows, but we’ve not worked on new music together for years. I don’t know. Rod Jones [guitarist] runs a recording studio and management company for bands, so he’s Mr Business now. I’m not sure where his mind is creatively. At the same time, it’s such a lovely thing that we made together over the years that I don’t think we’d ever close the door on it.”
