‘Stranger Things’ star Sadie Sink joins Tom Holland in ‘Spider-Man 4’
Stranger Things star Sadie Sink has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe after being cast alongside Tom Holland in Spider-Man 4.
It’s currently unclear who the actress will be playing in the upcoming movie, but Deadline, which first reported news, hinted that her role will be “significant”.
The publication has even suggested that Sink could be playing the X-Men mutant Jean Grey, a powerful character who was first brought to the big screen by Famke Janssen and more recently Sophie Turner.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton is directing the fourth Holland-led Spider-Man film. He’s taking over from Jon Watts, who made the first three films in the franchise.

With the project still in the early stages of development, plot details and further casting announcements are being kept tightly under wraps. However, back in October 2024, Holland and co-star Zendaya revealed that they had read the script for the fourth film and described it as “excellent”.
“It really lit a fire in me,” said Holland at the time. “Zendaya and I sat down and read it together, and we at times were bouncing around the living room like, ‘This is a real movie worthy of the fans’ respect.’ But there’s a few things we need to figure out before we can get that really going, but it’s exciting.”
In the third instalment of the film series, 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker (Holland) inadvertently break open the multiverse, allowing two previous Spider-Men, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, to appear in his reality, as well as a number of familiar enemies from different cinematic universes.
In a four-star review, NME wrote: ‘There are moments here that make you want to cheer and weep simultaneously. It’s not the most visually spectacular, it’s not the funniest, but it’s the most emotionally rich. For Spider-Man fans who’ve stuck with the character through the soaring highs and the sticky lows, this is your reward. And it makes it all worth it.”
Spider-Man 4 will be released in cinemas on July 31, 2026,
