Lizzo has shared her unapologetic new single ‘Still Bad’ from her forthcoming album ‘Love In Real Life’.

The song features pulsating 80s style keys and head-nodding claps while Lizzo shows that she is still as unapologetic as ever on the anthemic track. “I don’t need him. I need a drink,” she sings in the chorus, which is paired with a guitar solo. She then chants, “After everything, I’m still surviving and I’m still bad, baby, so bitch I can’t complain.”

Lizzo previously teased ‘Still Bad’ with a video clip on her Instagram account of her dancing and singing along to the track while sporting curly hair and an all red ensemble. The location tag of the clip read “Ur new favourite song”.

‘Still Bad’ marks the second taster from Lizzo’s forthcoming fifth album ‘Love In Real Life’. She previously released the LP’s title track as the lead single. The album’s lead single marked Lizzo’s return to music since her 2022 LP ‘Special’. At the time of writing, no official release date for ‘Love In Real Life’ has been shared. A press release has shared that “This chapter is all about love, life, and Lizzo.”

In a four-star review of ‘Special’, Nick Levine wrote for NME: “Perhaps inevitably, given Lizzo’s overwhelmingly positive message, ‘Special’ is sometimes a bit cheesy. Still, it’s cheesy in a way you won’t want to resist. “Is it your birthday, girl? / ‘Cause you lookin’ likе a present,” she sings on ‘Birthday Girl’, a song that practically marches you to the bar and orders you a shot of Tequila Rose.

“On this evidence, Lizzo knows exactly who she is as an artist and what she wants to achieve: she’s the bad bitch with an incredible talent for making people feel good.”

Elsewhere, the musician is set to perform at New York City’s Irving Plaza on Saturday (March 16) and at Minneapolis’ MN First Avenue on Tuesday (March 18). You can visit here to purchase tickets.

In other news, Lizzo recently celebrated reaching her “weight release” goals, telling her followers: “Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to.”

She also broke her silence in December on the sexual harassment lawsuit filed against her in 2023, claiming that she “did nothing wrong”. Lizzo had been sued by three former dancers who claimed to have been subject to sexual harassment and a hostile workplace environment while on tour. The singer denied the claims and said the situation had left her contemplating quitting the music industry.
