The runtime for the final episode of Severance season two has been revealed, with the finale also promising a surprising amount of violence.

A report by Dexerto has stated that the Australian Classification Board has revealed that  Episode 10, titled Cold Harbour, will be one hour and 16 minutes long, and has been given a MA 15+ rating by the board for “strong violence and blood and gore.”

It’s the highest rating for any episode of the show given by the advisory body, and a surprising description for a series that does not generally feature a lot of violence. The runtime is also significantly longer than other episodes in the show, with episode nine (The After Hours) lasting around 40 minutes.

The second season of the Apple TV+ show has been warmly received by fans and critics, with many hailing episode seven in particular as a “masterpiece”. It has also led several notable names to be revealed as fans, including former President Barack Obama, who was offered a role in the show by director Ben Stiller but turned it down due to scheduling issues.

In NME’s five-star review of season two, critic James Mottram writes: “As things get all the more intriguing by the minute, Severance is a show best watched on high alert,” adding: “Enjoy the ride and let this unique show tease and titillate your brain until you finally submit”.

Recently, it emerged that ardent fans of the show were descending on the real-life office es where the show is filmed. Bell Works, the former Bell Laboratories research centre in Holmdel, New Jersey is the setting for the show’s fictional Lumon Industries, and fans have filmed themselves making pilgrimages to the site.

Elsewhere, Odesza shared an eight hour “music to refine to” mix from the show.
