Jonas Brothers Tell Eli Manning Their New York Giants Superstition in Hilarious New Interview
The Jonas Brothers are kicking off their upcoming 20th anniversary tour at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium this summer. To celebrate, the sibling trio visited their hometown venue to join former New York Giants quarterback, Eli Manning, for his YouTube talk show.
In the interview, shared with Billboard on Friday (April 4), Manning and his co-host Shaun O’Hara chat with the JoBros about their upcoming album, Greetings From Your Hometown, set for release on August 8. “[The album] really encapsulates where we were and where we came from and the sounds that embodied how we grew up and really inspired us to become musicians,” Kevin Jonas explained of the project. “Taking a lot of that and bringing it now, into our musical journey. I’m excited for people to hear it.”
Joe Jonas and Manning then bonded over their pre-show ritual of doing push-ups. “Push-up guys know each other,” Joe playfully said, before the brothers revealed their Giants-related superstition. “A long time ago, we were playing a show in LA on Super Bowl Sunday, and we linked arms. That David Tyree catch happened because of us,” Nick Jonas recalled, in reference to the 2008 Helmet Catch involving Manning and the wide receiver in the final two minutes of Super Bowl XLII. “From that moment on, we were like, that is what we’re doing every time we’re in a spot where we need a miracle play.”
To finish off their chat, the Jonas Brothers played a game of “Know Your Bro,” where they revealed the most competitive sibling (Nick), favorite son (also Nick), most likely to forget lyrics (Joe), best cohost (Kevin) and more.
Of having the JoBros on the show, Manning shared in a statement to Billboard, “Having the Jonas Brothers come on the show was a bucket list moment for us. Their love for the Giants was evident and we look forward to having them perform at MetLife Stadium on August 10th.”
