Tripping Daisy reunite for first tour in 26 years

Tripping Daisy have announced they are reuniting for their first tour together in 26 years – see all the info below.

The Dallas psych-rock group were active from 1990 to 1999, disbanding when guitarist Wes Berggren passed away suddenly from an overdose. Frontman Tim DeLaughter and bassist Mark Pirro went on to form choral pop rockers The Polyphonic Spree a year later.

The band tentatively reformed in 2024 and have now made it official by announcing an extensive tour to take place in June and July this year in North America.

The shows will see them play their album ‘I Am An Elastic Firecracker’ in full to mark the record’s 30th anniversary, while they have also confirmed they will be playing other fan favourites from across their career too.

The shows kick off with a hometown gig at Dallas’ Bomb Factory on June 21 and will see them cross the continent, eventually winding up at Charlotte’s The Underground on July 20. Tickets are on sale now – find yours here.

Tripping Daisy have also confirmed that they intend to record a new studio album, although details are still thin on the ground. Their last album was their 2000 self-titled LP, which was released after they had announced their split.
