PSVR2 release date, specs, and latest news
Sony is set to release the PSVR 2 headset this year, bringing VR gaming to PS5 players, all the while utilising next-gen hardware for a new generation of games. The reveal has been an odd one, with updates staggered over the couple of years or so. We know what the headset looks like, and even have a games lineup to tide us over.
Thanks to a recent reveal, we now know a lot more about PSVR2. We have a price, and a full release date. Even better is the fact that the headset is now mere weeks away.
As more news is released on PSVR 2, we’ll update this page, hopefully building up to launch later this year. For now, here’s everything we know about PSVR 2 so far.
PSVR 2 release date
PSVR 2 will launch February 22, 2023, according to Sony. Now we know that the headset is indeed coming in 2023, we don’t have long until release. This final release date puts the headset alongside some stiff competition. February sees the release of Atomic Heart and Destiny 2: Lightfall.
PSVR 2 controllers
Sony has unveiled the PSVR 2 Sense controllers. You can see them in the image above. They have analogue sticks this time around, and are a far cry from the Move controllers that were utilised by the PSVR. So far, we know that the controllers will have haptic feedback, and they will be closer to the Meta Quest 2 controllers than before.

How much will PSVR 2 cost?
PSVR2 will cost £529.99 ($549.99, €599.99) when it launches. This includes PSVR2 headset, PSVR2 Sense controllers and stereo headphones. This pricing is certainly on the higher end of what we’d expect from a new VR headset. While there’s no doubt that PSVR 2 is packed with great tech and specs, we’ll have to wait and see whether it can attract more casual VR gamers at such a high price point.
That’s all we know about PSVR 2 so far. As more details are released, we’ll be sure to update this page. In the meantime, check out our list of every confirmed PSVR 2 game.
In other gaming news, Naughty Dog’s action-filled Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End almost had a stunt in one level paying homage to a James Bond movie.
