Don Omar, Silvestre Dangond & More: Which Is Your Favorite New Latin Music Release? Vote!
This week, our New Music Latin roundup — a compilation of the best new Latin songs, albums and videos recommended by Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors — is powered by new music from Don Omar — in collaboration with Luny Tunes and Wisin y Yandel — Silvestre Dangond and Sofía Reyes, who both released new albums, respectively.
Marking a reunion between Don Omar, Wisin y Yandel and producer duo Luny Tunes, “Sandunga” is a preview of what fans can expect from Don Omar’s upcoming EP, titled Don Omar Presenta: Back to Reggaeton. Taking Don Omar back to his old-school reggaeton roots, the song successfully blends the singer’s adrenaline-fueled formula, resulting in an explosive sound that preserves the essence of música urbana.
Colombian vallenato star Silvestre Dangond has unleashed ‘Ta Malo, which includes tracks by 13 composers, a true nod to the notion that vallenato is a troubadour genre where the singer tells stories of the people. Meanwhile, Mexican singer-songwriter Sofía Reyes embraces growth and lessons-learned in MILAMORES, her third studio album which includes collaborations with El Gran Silencia, Ingratax, Gera MX, and more.
Other new releases include Esteman’s bachata track “PORNOSTALGIA,” Arthur Hanlon’s EP Legados Pop, Juan Luis Guerra’s Radio Güira and Espectro Caudillo hard-hitting new set, La Liturgia del Tigre Blanco.
In our most recent New Music Latin fan-related poll, Chayanne’s Bailemos Otra Vez won with more than 42 percent of the votes. He was followed by Jay Wheeler’s Trappii with over 18 percent of the votes. What’s your favorite new Latin music release of the week? Vote below!
