Timothée Chalamet Is an Unfazed New Yorker in New ‘SNL’ Promo
Timothée Chalamet is returning to the Saturday Night Live stage this weekend (Nov. 11) as host, and the Dune actor took in some not-so-fresh air at 30 Rockefeller Plaza while strolling around the set.
In the one-minute promo released on Wednesday (Nov. 8), Chalamet walks around the SNL studio with headphones on, admiring “iconic parts” of the set including, the Weekend Update set, the clock and under the bleachers where the cue cards are written.
As the actor looks around on the stage where he’ll perform his monologue, Mikey Day and Sarah Sherman attempt to warn him to get out of the studio, as its being fumigated and the air is “poison.” However, Chalamet quickly replies, “It’s fine, I grew up in New York. I’m immune.”
The Wonka star is then seen dancing around the stage as the infected air fills his lungs. Chalamet is no stranger to SNL, having hosted the Dec. 12, 2020 episode. He’ll be joined by Boygenius — the supergroup helmed by Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker — who will appear as musical guest, just weeks after the release of new four-track EP The Rest. Bridgers previously served as musical guest for her solo work, in April 2021, and memorably destroyed her guitar on stage in Studio 8H.
Watch Chalamet in the SNL promo below. Saturday Night Live airs on Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC. For those without cable, the broadcast streams on Peacock, which you can sign up for at the link here.
